The Lazy Days of Summer
What is it about this saying that gives us hope that our days will slow down and we will be able to find some rest and relaxation?
But God’s Word cautions us against laziness. There are many verses in Proverbs that contrast a lazy person with a diligent person. For instance in Proverbs 15:19 “A lazy person has trouble all through life; the path of the upright is easy!” In Proverbs 21:5 “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Now this doesn't mean that we must always be working and never rest however we must always have an alert mind or it opens the doors for Satan to work in our lives. So, this summer, use your “down” time to seek the Lord diligently and you will find the rest and peace in Him that you truly desire.

I want to also remind you of our upcoming Summer Sunset Social. It is scheduled for July 29th starting at 6:30 at Holmes Beach. You can stop by the BaysideWomens' table in the church foyer for more information and to sign up. Drinks and light snacks will be provided; all you have to bring is a friend and a blanket or chair.
