youth ministry
So, I went to a conference the other day that was all about reaching this generation… the “Millennial” generation… which happens to be the largest generation living on the earth! I was reminded of why I am passionate about ministering to students… I think we often neglect the reality of the condition of this generation… We are in a battle for the very hearts of our students… if you recall in John 10:10, “The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. But I have come that you might have life and life to the full.” Life… that is why Jesus came… that’s why he paid such a great price… and that is what the enemy hates and is trying to destroy the very life that God offers. Right now in this nation only 4% of our youth are “Bible believing Christians” and 80-90% of people who come to Christ do it before they are 21… you can do the math. If we don’t reach this generation we will have a crisis on our hands. We think that this nation is having moral failure now… and that’s with 34% of this generation (Baby Boomers) being “Bible believing Christians” imagine… 4%... it can’t be good!

Reaching this generation is a huge undertaking… that’s why it’s so important that we all understand the importance of reaching this generation and the role we have to play… because we all have a role… that doesn’t mean you need to come and hang out with teenagers, but if you want to I am sure I can find a place for you! We can all pray for this generation and if you’re a parent that means getting your kids plugged in… I get so frustrated when I here that teen’s miss youth service’s and small groups because they are grounded or that their parents won’t bring them… it means building up and encouraging your kids in their walk with God… not just expecting the church to do it all. I want to make sure that you all hear my heart… I love your teens and I want them to experience God’s best in every area of their lives… but if we are going to reach this generation we all must work together.

I am excited about what God is doing and is going to do in our youth!
